Translations

Objective

  • Provide Seller Center to Sellers in multiple languages.
  • Give the possibility of non-English speaking Sellers to work with Seller Center
    Critical Knowledge

    • Seller Center can support an unlimited number of languages to be used by Sellers.
      • It is recommended to use the country’s most common languages as options for the users.
    • Some pages may look different, since the CMS elements are created based on the language.

    Setup

    1 Go to Administration > Settings

    In the section “General,” there is a setting for “Available languages”

    Type the required language in the field.

    • Possible options are displayed via auto complete.

    Please note that the following areas need to be configured with each additional language:

    		 language_selector
    3 Click “Submit” to save the changes.

    Translation Setup

    1 Go to Administration > Content Management > Translation Editor

    There are three ways to edit translations:

    • Edit directly in the table.
    • After clicking “Edit” in the Edit Translation Key form (which allows translations to be edited one after another).
    • Mass import

    Export a list with all translations in order to mass translate.

    For import mode, take the following steps:
    1. Download the translation template.

    2. Insert new entries.

    3. Entry will successfully be uploaded to translations.

    Manually adding a translation, click on “Add Translation”

    Description field contains the original text, e.g. an (error) message

    Translation needs to be edited with the wanted translation.

    		Example:
    Label: Products Description: Menu point for “Products”
    Translation: “Produit” (for French-speaking countries)
    Every day, Seller Center automatically cleans up non-translated entries from the system. This way, generated names (e.g., for document templates) don’t have to be translated and they also don’t confuse user if they are unsure, whether certain strings should be translated or not.

    If a text is not available, when using the translation editor, it is possible to create the entry manually.
