Category Auto-Approval

Objective

  • To reduce workload on content team when products are mass updated.
  • Configurable for each Seller so that experienced Sellers can make their products visible faster in the Shop and new Sellers’ products can go through the quality control (QC) process.
    Critical Knowledge

    • It is possible to turn the quality control process on or off for certain categories or based on certain Sellers.
    • Now all product creations or changes (price, content, images) are  approved automatically and synced to the Shop.
    • Even if products were previously pending approval, these products will also be automatically pushed to the Shop when they are in the right category (either global-level or Seller-level).

     


    Global Setup

    Go to Administration > Category Setup

    Global setup is active for all Sellers.

    Switch to the tab “Category Mapping”

    The overview table shows whether quality control is already enabled or disabled for the top level categories.

    • Green tick (): quality control is needed.
    • Red cross (x): quality control is not needed.
    • Tick/cross (inherit): the category takes the configuration from the next parent level category.

    To change the setting, click “Edit”

    In the overview, there is the option to set whether or not quality control is required.

    Seller Setup

    Seller-level will overwrite the global-level.

    1 Go to Administration > Seller Management

    Go to the Setup Sellers page, search for the desired Seller, and click “Edit”

    Switch to the tab “Category Settings”

    The overview table shows the current global-level setting, which settings are currently configured for the Seller, and which setting will be applied (in the “Result” column).

    Click on “Edit” to configure a particular category.

    Configure whether the selected category should be disabled for quality control, enabled, or if the setting from the parent category should be used.

    When a category is selected, the current setting is automatically inherited to all subcategories.

    Setting is saved and displayed.

    Now all product creations or updates are automatically approved and synced to the Shop.

    Even if products were previously pending approval, these products will be automatically pushed to the Shop system if they are in the correct category.
