Product Creation without Mandatory Images

Objective

As a Venture, I want to allow product creation for the Seller without mandatory image upload. This way, products can be created in connected systems (OMS, ERP) before customers are able to purchase these products.

  • Business Case: a Venture uses “Fulfillment by Venture.” This means that products must be created in the warehouse system before the consignment requests can be made to send the products to the warehouse and inbound them.

Setup

Global-level:

Go to Administration > Settings

Seller-level:

Go to Administration > Seller Management > Edit Seller

2 Open “Product Management” pwi1
3 Change the setting for “Enable mandatory image upload”  on/off
 4 Save the changes.
Critical KnowledgeIf the feature should be enabled, please raise a TMLSD ticket. The configuration which needs to be changed is without_images/feature_switch/enabled

Impact

SellerFor Sellers themselves, nothing changes; the product creation flow stays the same. The only difference is when the setting “Mandatory image upload” is off, the product goes immediately to the quality control page as “Pending.” When automatic quality control is enabled, the product will be immediately synced with the Shop system.
VentureIn the Shop system, it is important to make sure that products that have passed all product checks but don’t have images aren’t synced to the website. Otherwise, it is possible that customers will be able to purchase products without seeing what they are buying.

The only sign for the Seller to see that something is missing in the product is when the visible flag has no tick (√) but instead, a tick+exclamation mark (√!). Once the Seller clicks on this, they will be able to see the reason for the notification.pwi2

During product quality control, a user sees a standard review detail with a reminder that images are not needed for creation.

Furthermore, there is an additional filter available on the overview for pending products.
