Promotion Base Price

Decide which price should be used as a suggested product price for Sellers when they enter a promotion.

  • A product can have two prices: the normal price and a sales price for a certain time period.
  • As the sale price is lower than the normal price, the promotional reduction might also have a discount.
  • Therefore, an admin can decide for all promotions whether a product’s normal price should be used for the calculation, or if either the active sale price or the normal price (as fall back) should be used.

 Promotion Base Price

Choose between the following options:

  • “Use active sale price and alternatively the normal price for calculation of promotion price” (this is the default behavior) – The lowest between active sale price and normal price will be used.
  • “Use only the normal price for calculation of promotion price”

The settings influence the “Current Price” displayed for the Seller when they apply to the promotion. The “Current Price” is used as a base when promotion prices are calculated.

Enable Promotion Price Range Input

By default, it is only possible to set one limit (either min. percentage discount or max. price limit) when price criteria are configured. In order to prevent the Seller from unreasonably changing the product prices, boundaries need to be set on the possible prices when the Seller applies their products to a promotion. This way, product prices can’t be lowered below the usual prices.

 Promotion creation when…

Enable Promotion Price Range input = NO
Enable Promotion Price Range Input = no

Enable Promotion Price Range input = YES
Enable Promotion Price Range Input = yes
In case a promotion has been created with a range (either for a limit or percentage discount) and the setting is disabled, then the Seller will still be able to enter said promotion. The range input will be ignored. Only the (mandatory) first field for discount/limit will be considered for the price.
